Spectator Rules
1. Spectators must remain at least six feet from the touchlines.
2. Spectators must locate themselves on the opposite side of the field of the teams and coaches.
3. Spectators shall not locate themselves along the goal lines or behind the goal while the game is in progress.
4. Spectators must not try to ‘coach’ the players during the game. Please refrain from speaking to and/or giving instructions to the players during the game.
5. Questioning, complaining to, or protesting to the referee is prohibited as prescribed in the laws of soccer. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS RULE MAY RESULT IN VIOLATING SPECTATORS BEING EJECTED FROM THE PARK AND/OR TERMINATION OF THE GAME BY THE REFEREE.
Thunder and Lightning:
We must realize that safety comes first! As a matter of policy:
1. Thunder equals lightning. If you hear thunder, stop your game. If you see lightning, stop your game. Follow the recognized procedures in Ohio North; either wait 30 minutes before re-starting, or apply the rules of competition appropriate for the league or tournament where you are officiating.
2. At multi-field facilities, if one referee stops a game, everyone else stops too. We cannot allow situations where parents or coaches question the decision of one referee because someone else has a different opinion or has given in to pressure.
IF ONE REFEREE STOPS A GAME, ALL REFEREES STOP THEIR GAMES.
Members of the State Referee Committee and certain higher level referees will be monitoring this policy throughout the District and will report those who fail to comply.
